Inspired by the roaring 20s of the 20th century, the Art Deco style is a form of decorative art. It is a timeless trend that is increasingly making its way into our homes, constantly captivating us. Geometric patterns, soft and shiny textiles, strong, uniform and expressive colors, and furniture with „soul” reign supreme. Perfectly selected details complete the stylish interiors.

How to decorate the interior in the Art Deco style

If you want to feel like you’re in the mansion of millionaire Gatsby, or you like elegant and stylish interiors full of harmony – art déco will be perfect for you. This trend full of noble and natural materials, interesting geometric shapes and combinations, and refined decorations will transport you to a realm of luxury where you’ll fall in love. Go for geometry and functionality, symmetry, flowing shapes and uniformity of colors, maintaining order, and at the same time, individualizing the interior. Choose furniture and doors made of solid wood or veneered wood. Or maybe with glass? In an unconventional geometric decor and with gold accents? Absolutely!

Art Deco in today's interiors

Contemporary interiors rarely resemble opulent homes straight from the big screen of an American film studio. Investors usually opt for a universal and simple base that they then enrich with elements of their favorite style. So how do you combine, for example, popular minimalism with the opulent art deco style? It’s very easy. Remember that art deco is classic and modern: it’s about maintaining order and harmony. Sophisticated accessories are all that’s needed. Interesting graphics or wallpaper on the wall, accents in a uniform and striking color: deep burgundy, bottle green or royal purple can work wonders. Often the handle on furniture or even the door handle can give a room character. And speaking of doors, go for an individual solution with the sliding door systems from Gustavson, which will perfectly emphasize the good taste and elegance of any interior. And that’s certainly true in the ornate Art Deco style. The Gustavson systems, such as Aero, Aero Glass, Porta Glass, Estima and Estima Glass cassettes, Stark and Stark Glass, are high-quality, functional and minimalist solutions that combine elegance and modernity, symmetry and geometry. Moreover, the advantage of our cassettes is that they blend perfectly with Cubism and Futurism, as well as with architectural constructivism.

Design full of style and elegance

For any interior that combines precision and functionality with a sophisticated style, the Visio system for concealed door frames is the perfect solution. Cover the door leaf and the wall with, for example, a geometric wallpaper with gold accents. The whole will create a beautiful and architecturally sophisticated space, most definitely in the Art Deco style. When decorating an interior in a high-rise building, go for Visio without a top beam – the door will reach the ceiling. Made from milled veneer, it will give the room an elegance, style, and modernity. In smaller interiors, to save valuable living space, it is worth investing in sliding doors.

The Aero system will look exceptionally elegant in Art Deco style. The technologically advanced system, combined with doors made of precious exotic wood, emphasizes the precise craftsmanship of both. The geometric-milled doors also pair perfectly with the Aero system. This system will definitely bring harmony and elegance to any interior. Even our Stark cabinets fit perfectly into the chic style of the 20s of the 20th century. All you need to do is accent the frame with a uniform, distinctive color to match the decorative wall panelling. Art Deco and Gustavson share many characteristics: customization, functionality, attention to detail, precision, and sophisticated design.
